Robots Don't Cry

Shock numbs the pain
But only for a time
It sets up a defense
Ignoring the crime
Function continues
As if we're machines
Until it all blows
To smithereens
This world cares not
Whether my heart stays whole
It doesn't repent
Doesn't try to console
'Blue Skies' plays
To the beat of my tears
The music is lively
And nobody hears
So calloused we seem
So fragile we are
Humanity's children
Not one without a scar
Will I bleed forever?
Stuck inside this skin?
I wonder if it'd be easier
To be made of tin.
